Dance Recital

Last night was Lucy's Dance Recital. She danced to "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas." She was scowling the whole time and she later told me it was because the lights were too bright. She was completely distracted by them and all of the people that she forgot to dance. Her class was the youngest class and they got the most laughs and the most applause. It was so fun.

My favorite part of the dance is at 1:12 to about 1:20. It captures exactly how confused and distracted she was. I wish we filmed the other girls too. They had a runaway child a few times.

Afterwards, Grandma Rhonda and Grandpa Hans gave her a gift. She was thrilled.

These are her teachers. They are amazing. They are very aware of Lucy and her needs. We've discovered that she really struggles with loud music. She plugs her ears in class to cope with it. She also struggles with some of the girls who don't listen or do what they are supposed to do. So the teachers make sure that they are always separated so Lucy doesn't get frustrated and shut down. She loves them.

We went to Winger's afterwards to celebrate.
