18 Month Checkup

The boys turned 18 months on the 18th. Luke is 21 pounds and 31 inches tall. He is in the 3rd percentile. He's my little guy (I said that in a baby voice). Jacob is 26 pounds and 33 inches tall. He is in the 70th percentile. His head was in the 95th percentile. Both Jacob and Luke stayed about the same in their weight and both grew 2 inches since their 15 month checkup.

They are a little behind in their speech so a speech therapist comes to our house a few times a month. Just in the past few weeks their speech and especially their comprehension has really improved. Jacob can say "oh no," "moo," "horse," "duck," "woof," and "ball." Luke can say "no no," "down," "moo," "woof," "ball" and he does the intonation for "uh oh." They have learned all of these in the last month.

We have had a lot of firsts this month. On the way home from the appointment we got forward facing car seats. We tested them out and Jacob screamed most of the test drive. This week we started sitting them at the table with us for the first time. We're working on teaching the use of plates, utensils and a cup. They had their first day of nursery today and they did great. They are cute.

And lastly but not least, Luke sleeps weird.

July and August Miscellaneous

We tore up our front yard so that we could redo the entire sprinkler system. We added more sprinklers and made it more efficient. We also have had a lot of ground settling that caused a huge sinkage in our lawn. We spent the last couple of weekends tearing that up and fixing it.

The kids have been playing really well together. We find the boys doing cute things all the time. Jacob has a classic "surprise" face that he uses for everything.
