Ben's New Car

When we first got married Ben's dad got us our first car. It was the first one either of us had ever owned. We worked that summer to pay him back, which we did. Since then the Malibu has been to and from Canada 4 or 5 times. It had 137,000 miles on it by the time we were done with it. Whenever we drove it over the past couple of years, we were crossing our fingers that it would get there safely. It has had several problems lately but it really started to go downhill after Ben hit the coyote last Winter. We replaced the radiator but a ton of things were cracked and broken. Then on the way home from hiking last week Ben's tire exploded. Driving over that on the freeway kind of broke off a few other pieces. He came home last weekend and we decided that it's probably time to get a new car instead of putting more money into the Malibu.

So on Monday he decided on what type of car he wanted. On Tuesday he went and looked at some. On Wednesday he decided on one. And yesterday, Thursday, we went together to go buy it. It's a Ford Fusion. The process was so easy because we had researched so much with the Traverse that we knew where to look and what cars to look at. It was really easy for me because I didn't have an opinion. This will be mainly for Ben's use so whatever he wanted, within reason,  I was fine with. We went to a place in Murray. The people and business were great. They had some type of freebies for our cell phones but since we don't have cell phones we got free T-Shirts and Lucy got a teddy bear. We love free shirts!! And they had free root beer. We love root beer too!

Bye-bye Malibu

Summer Swim Lessons

Lucy just finished her Preschool Level 3 swim lessons. She had 3 amazing teachers. The female teachers really took the time to help her. By the end of the 2 weeks she had learned how to float on her back and swim a little on her own. She did so well. They said as soon as she turns 6 she can go straight to the regular level 3!

Fourth of July

We spent the Fourth of July in Grantsville again this year. Ben had just gotten back from hiking with his dad and was still recovering so we kept it simple. We went to the parade then came home and napped. We then went back to the park for some activities. We didn't end up going to fireworks this year. I guess with how windy and rainy it was, the show was cut short anyway.
