Our Backyard

Ben has worked so hard this Summer. We had a neighbor with a backhoe start digging our trampoline pit. It wasn't in our plans for this Summer but the opportunity arose and it jump started us into getting the backyard completed. Ben moved dirt for a month or so trying to level out our backyard. One day  I went school shopping with Lucy and when we came home, the trampoline was in the pit. Because the trampoline is at the back of our property, the kids were bringing in dirt every time they went outside to play. So I suggested we put grass in and that we needed to do it before the baby arrived. Ben went right to work. We extended our patio to cover the entire width of our house. Ben designed the sprinkler system. We hired someone to trench our backyard. Then Ben spent a week putting in the system. We ordered and spread topsoil. And then we ordered and had our neighbors help lay 9,500 square feet of sod. It was a quick decision to get it all done. From deciding to put in grass to actually doing it was probably a 3 week process. Ben was out there every spare minute working. Often times it was windy and rainy and he would be out there shoveling in the dark. He worked SO hard. The end result is absolutely beautiful! We love our backyard. The kids love to run and play out there. And I love that my house is essentially dirt free!
