This year was so fun making a gingerbread house. Lucy designed it all by herself. Daddy put frosting on where she told him to and she put all of the candies on. She's very creative.
Of course afterwards we had to get ourselves on sugar-highs with the leftover sweets.
On a side note, she's also really good at drawing and writing. I told her to make a card for her friend's birthday and this is what she whipped up. I was shocked.

Santa Visits
We went to City Creek Mall on my birthday and visited Santa. We also had the opportunity to see him again during story time at the library.
We need to work on her fake smile. This is one our favorite librarians, Susan.
Here's a throwback from last year at the library.
Thanksgiving
On Thanksgiving we do the typical traditions. Ben went and played football in the morning while I looked at the Black Friday ads and made a pie. After he came home we went shotgun shooting. I decided that is the last time I'll do that until the twins come. The drive there was way too bumpy and the jolt of the shotgun was a little too much for me. Later my mom and dad came for dinner. We tried to make everything easy and instant so the day was relaxing and exactly how I like the day to be. There wasn't any commotion or rushing or stress of cooking all day.
First Snow!
Back in November we had our first snowfall of the season. Lucy and Ben spent a lot of time making snowmen, forts, and snow angels.
A few days later it all melted away and we had one sad little girl.

Halloween
Lucy dressed up as a lot of things this Halloween.
On Tuesday during dance she was a pirate.
On Wednesday during story-time at the library she was a cowgirl.
The day of Halloween she was Cinderella.
The night before Halloween we carved pumpkins.
On Halloween day, Lucy had her Halloween party and parade at preschool. The kids had a blast and I am really glad I decided to put on the parade.
Later that night Ben and Lucy went Trick-or-Treating while I stayed home and passed out candy. She did so good staying out over an hour. She had been waiting for this day for so long and the excitement was more than she could handle. She came home and dumped out her candy and quickly started eating her favorites. She helped us pass out candy until our last trick-or-treaters at 8:30pm. I love that our neighborhood starts trick-or-treating around 5:30pm so that they finish early too!
We live in such a close-knit town that everyone knows everyone. We mainly know everyone from our ward but we know others from dance, the library, the town gatherings, the park, softball leagues etc. Most likely we know or are connected to everyone in town in some way. And if they don't know us, they know Lucy. So during trick-or-treating multiple people recognized Lucy and asked about her baby twins. She let the cat out of the bag and told them the genders! So today we'll let our family know before someone in town gets to them first! I may have slipped and told the dance moms too. It turns out that one dance mom is the sister-in-law to the 1st counselor in the primary so I figured the secret wouldn't last more than a week anyway.
Now on to Thanksgiving!
