Weekend Trip to Wyoming

Ben's grandpa died last week at the age of 95. He had 5 children, 31 grandchildren (I think), and 99 great grandchildren (including Lucy). He lived a full life. Ben says I met him before but I am pretty sure I didn't meet him. He was born and died in Lovell, Wyoming. So Ben left early from work on Friday and we started the drive to Lovell so that we could attend the funeral. Lucy did so great on the 8 1/2 hour drive. She never complained or whined. Her only panic moments were when she needed to go to the bathroom and she had to wait 20 miles or so.


We stayed at Ben's cousin's house who actually has children our age. The next day we went to the funeral, had a lunch-in, and spent the afternoon at one of his uncles' house. We climbed up sand rock. Apparently Ben and his siblings climbed up sand rock every year and carved their names in the rock. Ben's name was carved all over that rock. It was pretty steep and dangerous so the men had to help all of the children and women up and down the rock.

Later in the evening we stopped at grandpa's farm and the golf course that was built on part of his farm. Ben had a lot of happy memories created there.

I don't fully understand the significance of this bridge but Ben drove across it a lot growing up and he loved it.

We drove back Sunday. It was a short trip but I am so glad I got to understand a little more about Ben's childhood. We documented every room in grandpa's house and around it. I got to meet and understand a little more about Ben's extended family. I'm glad we decided to be a little spontaneous and take the quick trip.

Easter

We had an Easter Egg Hunt at our neighbors' house.

We had an Easter Egg Hunt with Grantsville City also. It was organized so well and Lucy had a blast. She dominated.

There was a bouncy slide there also which was fun for Lucy.

The Easter Bunny delivered her treats the next morning.

Lucy also learned about the resurrection. Her nursery leader told us she practically taught the Sunday lesson.

The Greatest Date Ever!

Part of Ben's birthday celebration was going out to dinner and a Grizzly's game. I had a blast! We went to Red Robin and I tried something new! I devoured it and then we headed to the Grizzly game.

It was the last game of the season and they played against Colorado, which is ranked higher than them. The Grizzlies won 4-3 in a shoot out! So fun!

St. Patrick's Day

We didn't really do anything special for St. Patty's Day except eat Lucky Charms and make a leprechaun trap. However, Lucy was thrilled.

The leprechaun left foot prints all over and fell in the hole but somehow got out! He left a note and M&Ms. Lucy is still upset that he got paint on her ladder. 

Ben's 28th Birthday

Ben's 28 years old. I say this every year but I started dating him when he was nearly a baby, 21 years old. And now, he's 28! Time flies. There isn't anyone in this world that I would rather have spent the last 6 years with. He's incredibly handsome and that pretty makes up for any flaws he has, which is close to nil. I love the guy, even if he is balding with his old age. :)

We had a little party with the usual group. We played games and had brownies and ice cream.

Earlier in the day we opened presents which consisted of clothes and more clothes. I made him model some.

We Survived Winter!

We tried to keep ourselves busy despite all the snow.

We took a lot of naps....

We read lots and lots of books....

We ate snow.....

We played dress-up (everyday).....

We danced at weddings....

 We even tickled random strangers from under tables at weddings!

And now we're glad that the sun is out.
